Bob Chinn's: A Seafood and Steakhouse Experience in Wheeling, IL

The famous Bob Chinns sure lived up to its reputation. The coconut jumbo shrimp were fantastic with a light tasty breading. Crab stuffed mushrooms were really stuffed and could be a small meal in itself. Scallops were cooked perfect and melted in your mouth. Can’t really go here without ordering the enormous 7lb whole lobster. What a presentation and a ton of meat. To cap the meal the Paradise pie was like nothing I’ve had before. Also the service was fantastic and we had a large party all dishes were on time and hot

My husband, son, and I had such a wonderful evening at Bob Chinn’s. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere felt lively yet welcoming. Our seafood dishes were absolutely delicious—the crab cakes were crisp and flavorful, and the halibut was cooked to perfection. Rico, our server, went above and beyond with his attentiveness and friendly demeanor, making us feel well cared for throughout the meal. We ended the night with a slice of key lime pie that was the perfect sweet finish. Bob Chinn’s is truly a gem, and we can’t wait to come back!

If you’re a fan of seafood I really recommend this place. I have dined with them many times. Food and drinks are awesome. Especially staff who work there. They are very nice and friendly. Never disappointed!

Great place and service was great!! We live about an hour away so it was our first time back in years. We were really looking forward to it as it was a group of 8...to be honest the food didn't blow me away like it once did. The sushi was delish for appetizer ...

Went today for the first time. We had the Alaskan king crab. It was very good. For the price we expected larger legs, however, they were big and it was still very good. We also had the 32oz Porterhouse steak,.. Amazing!!! Cooked perfect, nice char on the outside and wonderful flavor! The garlic rolls were delicious, warm, a little crunch when you bite into them, and loaded with garlic...yum. raw oysters were big and good, we like briny oysters, these were not, but still very good!! The waitress was so very nice, talkative, informative, liked every bit of service she provided. Atmosphere was pleasant. Wasn't too busy at 12:30 when we got there, it started to fill up when we were leaving. Im definitely going back to try other items. Its over an hour drive for us, and I will be glad to take the drive again to eat here!

Been going to Bob Chonn’s for my birthday for the past 5 years and it’s always delish!! I love that they gave fresh seafood and great service. Keith-our server took the time to sing “happy birthday song to me by himself and he did an amazing job. Keith we thank you for your great service,and for making my special day amazing. We will definitely be back!!

OUTSTANDING PLACE! fresh seafood. smells fishy walking in but nope! it was outstanding! ordered the Nantucket scallops in season! OMG! ordered the crustacean celebration, food was served cold, but they gave me warm butter. regardless, the lobster, crab, and shrimp was delicious! Felipe was amazing! HE KNOWS THIS PLACE INSIDE AND OUT!! he was busy but super attentive and not in a overbearing manner! so informative!!! We ordered the Wellers special reserve-very smooth! (but im biased to wheated bourbons) the stagg was a little bit “bitey”. The mai tai had too much pineapple juice for me. but it was ok. Had the Blackberry bourbon old fashioned , that was good. They gave us a hawaiian strawberry shortcake- very delicious! not overly sweet! soft! delicious! definitely coming back!

Bob Chinn’s is truly iconic for a reason. Of course, we started with their famous Mai Tais and the homemade garlic rolls — both lived up to the hype. The garlic rolls were warm, buttery, and impossible to stop eating. For my main dish, I had the special king crab carbonara and it was absolutely fantastic — rich, flavorful, and loaded with generous pieces of king crab. We also shared the oysters appetizer, which was fresh, clean, and delicious. Our waiter, Jose F., was fantastic — incredibly friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. From start to finish, everything was top-notch. Highly recommend Bob Chinn’s if you’re looking for a classic, memorable dining experience.
